Hi there, I liked your description of a Ghetto Burger which made me think of a recent Monaco HamBurger I had at a football match in France Monaco v Marseille OM won. Well it was a mini burger with hot juicy foie gras (fried goose livers) inside - you had to eat it in one go! Typically French - très p'tit mais très bon.

I think this is my 2nd time on Twitter so I dont really know what its all about - however, your set of rules seems like a good start so I hope you dont mind my using that same strategy. Now, how I ended up on your page was quite by accident, I was looking for 'oils art' originally so how I got into your page is still a mystery.

Adieu from France

I had one of Ms. Anns Ghetto Burgers back in April of this year I take that back... I had about 5 of them. Needless to say she almost ripped on me cause she was like..."I don't usually do this many this early, but I'll do it for you cause you from outta town.!" Somebody leaned over and was like, "Man you got off pretty easy!"

All I got to say is it was worth it! Matter of fact I still got one in my deep freezer right now for (hard times)! It may not be everybodys thing, but like I heard her say out her own mouth... If you don't like it, you don't have to eat here goddammit Im gon' still be here.

The convo she made while she was cooking was hilarious too! She talked about everybody from Shirley Franklin to some hot shot radio dj of whom she said... I don't need his ass, i been here over 30 some years!

If you haven't been there you need to go... because the rumors are true she is selling the place, I just hope I can make it back to ATL one more time before she calls it quits!

I respect Rusty's comments but I totally disagree with him. I had my first Ghetto Burger at Miss Ann's Shack Bar today (June 26, 2009). First I have eaten many burgers around Atlanta (not all) and around the country (not all). To include Buffalo Burgers made from real buffalo in Oklahoma and Bubba Burgers in various parts of the country. My take on this “Ghetto Burger” is that I have yet to taste any burger that has been better. Every bite was an amazing experience. No wonder people were packed waiting outside 1 hour before she opened.

True it’s not grilled/flame broiled, and so what? If this Dream Burger gave me this much pleasure I don’t care if Miss Ann Price cooked it with a cigarette lighter.

Well I'm going by a traditional standard of burgers, I will agree with jbrotherlove and call it the best burger ever. If you disagree then tell me which one beats this Ghetto Burger and I’ll go try it and write another opinion.

I find it a little disconcerting when people make unequivocal statements like "this is the best burger in the city."

First, have they had every single burger in the city?

Second, are they saying there is a rigid standard for what makes a good burger, and that anything that deviates slightly from that standard is not a good burger?

Miss Ann's burger isn't for everyone. Like you mentioned, it's huge. Its consistency is almost more like a sloppy joe. It's not grilled/flame broiled like most burgers I consider to be exceptional, but rather cooked on an industrial cook top like the ones at Waffle House.

It's delicious and tastes unlike anything else I've ever eaten. I think anyone who eats red meat who hasn't tried one is missing out. But if I'm going by a traditional standard of burgers, I might not call it the best burger ever.

Like you said, who care?
