#resound11: All is Love (It’s Complicated)

this photo has been intentionally left blank

December 25, 2011: Who do you love unconditionally? Who loves you unconditionally? Who do you love despite their flaws? All is love. #resound11

Yeah, right. I could answer this from several different aspects of “love”. But these days, my mind is a jumble around love and relationships. Not answering this one yet.

#resound11: Try (The World Is My Oyster)

British Airlines plane taking off

What is one thing (activity, food, career, event, travel, etc.) that you’d like to try in 2012? Why haven’t you tried it yet? What makes 2012 the year to try it? #resound11

I’ve wanted to travel to England since high school when I fell in love with my first band, Duran Duran, and most of the Second British Invasion. Since then, I’ve added other locations to my wish list: Amsterdam, Rome, Tokyo, Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Paris, etc. Yet, I’ve haven’t been to any.

In high school and during my twenties, money was a huge factor. But now I can’t use that as an excuse. International travel prices are comparable to some domestic travel. The biggest obstacle I have now is fear. I don’t know anyone who lives outside of North America. So I won’t be visiting anyone who could show me the ropes. And since there’s a good chance I’ll be traveling alone, it freaks me out a bit. I think I’ve seen too many (bad) movies about abduction in foreign countries.

At any rate, I’m re-committing to traveling internationally in 2012. Who knows, I may fall in love with a new country and want to move. The world is my oyster, after all.

#resound11: Today Is All You Have (And I Want To Share It)

December 23, 2011: It’s true, today is all you have, so why not make the most of it? Describe your perfect day, one that you’ve had this year or one that you’d like to have next year. What makes it perfect for you? #resound11

There’s so many ways I could answer this prompt. I’ve been in a relationship sort of mind lately so I’m going to answer it as if I’m in my dream relationship.

An Example of a Perfect Saturday

8:00am: Wake up from a good long sleep with my boo. We feed the pets and decide to go back to sleep for a couple more hours.

9:30am: Awake, but still in bed, watching the news, catching up on our digital content, eating yogurt, fruit or cereal.

10:30am: A brisk walk to get the blood pumping. Then, sexy time and a shower.

12:00pm: Lunch at one of the restaurants on our list.

1:00pm: Culture surfing (art gallery or neighborhood hopping most likely)

2:00pm: Catching an independent movie

4:00pm: Doing something physical (walking through the park, biking, rock climbing, etc) or volunteering

6:00pm: Hungry! Hitting one of our favorite food spots.

8:00pm: Sexy time, then a nap.

10:30pm: We’re up, showered and getting dressed for the night.

11:00pm: Catching a performance art event (poetry, circus, burlesque, etc.).

12:30am: Drinks and dancing to some rare groove or deep house music.

2:30am: Trying to make a healthy choice for a late night snack and failing.

4:00am: Home, exhausted but happy.

4:30am: Making out and recapping our day until we fall asleep in each others’ arms.
