#resound11: 12 in 12 (The Big List)

December 12, 2011: Take today to talk about 12 things you would like to accomplish in 2012. These 12 things can be 12 resolutions, 12 changes in your life, 12 wines you’d like to drink, 12 cities you’d like to visit, or 12 monthly goals. #resound11
I wanted to write something clever for this prompt. But I ended up with a simple list of goals for 2012.
- Purge
I have too much shit I don’t need or use. - Buy A Car
I’m closing in on this as I type. I’ve been without a car for almost two years now. I’m lucky that I can usually borrow my housemates’ cars when needed. But I need my own wheels. I just need to figure out what I want. - Exercise
I’ve already lost close to 20lbs this year. I’ve got at least 20 more to go. But I also need to firm things up. My initial goal is to exercise at least three times a week. Nothing too crazy. I’ll see what happens after that. - Visit Family
I visited my folks last week which was cool. I want to do that more often. And then there’s my brother. I usually wait until my parents drive into town to see their grandchildren to visit my brother and his family. But I need to be better at this. - Get A Passport
I really want to travel internationally in 2012. In order to do that, I need to (finally) get a passport. I don’t know why I’ve been dragging my feet on this. - Celebrate My Birthday
And I mean really celebrate it. Not acknowledge it with a last-minute, restaurant gathering. - Get A Tattoo
Still trying to figure out what I want to permanently put on my body. If it doesn’t happen by my birthday I doubt it will ever happen. - Volunteer
I donate money quite regularly. But I need to actually volunteer my time for a change. - Take A Cruise
I’m thinking my first cruise will be a 2-3 day deal. I need to find out if I get sea sick. I get motion sickness but I’ve been told this shouldn’t be a problem. - Learn Another Development/Programming Language
It can’t hurt to beef up my skill set. Plus it should be fun. Now to decide which route: Advanced PHP? Ruby? Java (I’d love to develop an Android app)? - Travel Internationally
This has been on my “list” since high school. I’ve been to San Juan, Puerto Rico and Windsor, Ontario but those don’t really count. I want to travel outside of North America. I’m thinking Amsterdam, London, and Paris to get my feet wet. - Move
I love living with the guys just inside of the perimeter. Although it doesn’t take long to drive to downtown Atlanta, I’d like to live closer to the areas where I actually eat, drink and play (West/Midtown, Inman Park, Edgewood, etc.).

Do go take a trip abroad, it is so very worth it. Start with London or Amsterdam and then each year find a new place.
I have my best restoration times when I get out of the country starting with a nice long plane flight.
If you need London recommendations, I am your girl, as I love that city.
p.s. Hotel Estherea in Amsterdam is a bit pricey, it is SO WORTH it. Over the top decor, great location on one of the canals near to the Jordaan and the red light district, but quiet and lovely. Has bike rentals, too, which are very necessary for A’dam.
