#resound11: Today Is All You Have (And I Want To Share It)

unmade bed

December 23, 2011: It’s true, today is all you have, so why not make the most of it? Describe your perfect day, one that you’ve had this year or one that you’d like to have next year. What makes it perfect for you? #resound11

There’s so many ways I could answer this prompt. I’ve been in a relationship sort of mind lately so I’m going to answer it as if I’m in my dream relationship.

An Example of a Perfect Saturday

8:00am: Wake up from a good long sleep with my boo. We feed the pets and decide to go back to sleep for a couple more hours.

9:30am: Awake, but still in bed, watching the news, catching up on our digital content, eating yogurt, fruit or cereal.

10:30am: A brisk walk to get the blood pumping. Then, sexy time and a shower.

12:00pm: Lunch at one of the restaurants on our list.

1:00pm: Culture surfing (art gallery or neighborhood hopping most likely)

2:00pm: Catching an independent movie

4:00pm: Doing something physical (walking through the park, biking, rock climbing, etc) or volunteering

6:00pm: Hungry! Hitting one of our favorite food spots.

8:00pm: Sexy time, then a nap.

10:30pm: We’re up, showered and getting dressed for the night.

11:00pm: Catching a performance art event (poetry, circus, burlesque, etc.).

12:30am: Drinks and dancing to some rare groove or deep house music.

2:30am: Trying to make a healthy choice for a late night snack and failing.

4:00am: Home, exhausted but happy.

4:30am: Making out and recapping our day until we fall asleep in each others’ arms.

#resound11 Identify the Problem (The Easy Part)

person meditating

December 22, 2011: Identify the problem. That is, when you’re annoyed, angered, or frustrated, ask yourself, “What exactly is the problem here?” Today, take a few minutes to ponder that one little, nagging issue that, if solved or eliminated, would make your life better. #resound11

It took a lot of focused meditation but, I’ve identified the most pressing problem I have right now. That was the easy part. I’ve planned a few ways to eliminate the problem. Now, to follow through (the hard part)…

#resound11: Embrace (Why Judge It)

Judge Mathis

December 21, 2011: What guilty pleasure have you embraced this year? What have you just accepted as something you enjoy and stopped denying it? What do you enjoy that would surprise people that know you? #resound11

This took minute because the phrase “guilty pleasure” doesn’t really resonate with me. I think a lot of people claim chocolate or something as a guilty pleasure, right?

Certainly, I have bad habits. I suppose I could list laughing at reality shows on Bravo, watching strippers, or eating a pint of Häagen-Dazs Rum Raisin Ice Cream in one go as guilty pleasures. But I guess I’m not especially ashamed by the things I like. Not enough to feel guilty about them. It’s a part of who I am. Why judge it?

Oh wait. There is that one thing…
