Two huge, beef patties (each with cheese), grilled onions and deep-fried bacon with mayo, ketchup, mustard, chili, tomatoes and lettuce on a grilled bun. Seriously, it’s like two burgers. Oh, and I had fries, too. And… cholesterol be damned, I’d do it again!

The experience alone is worth the visit. It’s fascinating to watch Miss Ann create and cook each burger with determination. It’s a definite throwback to simpler days before fast food and gastropubs. As for her “soup-Nazi” disposition, I get it (it probably helps that I learned manners from a black mother and grandmother).

Miss Ann had only two minor issues today. She told two people not to use their phones at the counter. The second incident involved a guy with a takeout order. After asking for a cup, and then some ice (she charged him for both because “I can’t just give them away.”), he also wanted a straw. Miss Ann refused. Surprised, he asked how much he had to pay for the straw and she snapped “I’m not selling no straws!”

Anyway, there have been rumors that Miss Ann is selling the Snack Bar. But nothing definite. I’d advise getting there soon (and getting there early) for a piece of Atlanta history while it’s still there.

• Inspired by Foursquare, I’ve been trying out some restaurants for the first time including, Oceanaire Seafood Room, Leon’s Full Service and Cuerno.
• Recently, I had to fire one client. But I’m developing others.
• I attended Mashable Mixer Atlanta last night, which was all kinds of cool. It was so well-attended, most of us ended up missing someone we wanted to meet. Social Media, meet Atlanta. She has arrived.

So you see. I haven’t been inactive. However, my mini-horoscope had this to say today:

“Throwing yourself into work and current commitments could be a manifestation of lonlieness or disappointment.”

But no one pays attention to those, right?

For 7th and 8th grade I was bussed from my rather pristine, racially mixed Catholic School to a mostly white public school (part of Chicago’s controversial “intergration” plan).

I’d been warned to be careful around public school kids (they were “dangerous”). During the first week, I saw two girls arguing. I’d noticed them before and found them intrguing because they wore tight blue jeans (I was still accostumed to seeing girls in Catholic skirts).

In retrospect, these were some fast, foul-mouthed girls.

One girl told the other: “Eat me!” which got a big response from the crowd watching. I didn’t understand what “eat me” meant at the time (late bloomer). In response, the other girl said: “Kiss my bloody coochie!” and got a bigger response. I didn’t understand menstratuation at the time, either. But I knew what “bloody” and “coochie” meant. And I thought it was gross! I stayed away from those girls after that.

As soon as I got home from school I and asked my mom (IN FRONT OF COMPANY) “Momma. What does ‘eat me’ mean?” She asked where did I hear that and I told her at school. She told me she’d tell me later after her company had left. I’m sure she wanted to pull me out of that school the next day.

By the way, she never got around to telling me what “eat me” means.
