Is your blog nominated for a Black Weblog Award?

Black Weblog Awards

Have you sent in your nominations for the 2010 Black Weblog Awards, yet? If not get to it; the deadline to submit blogs for nomination is Sunday, July 25. As they say, you have to be in it to win it. Also, I’m happy to see the BWA website getting updated regularly. In particular, I’m digging the Blogging Stories series and tips from past BWA winners like Fave (2007 Judges’ Choice for Best Podcast).

BWA 2011 Kickstarter Campaign

A recent development: There’s a new BWA Kickstarter campaign for 2011 because, the awards need to expand:

In order to do this, we need help from the online community. In 2011, we want to have a live awards ceremony with trophies, streaming video, and a private, catered reception. This will not only put the Black Weblog Awards on the map physically, but also metaphorically, showing that the recognition of the breadth and depth of knowledge, experience, and cultural significance is truly worth showcasing.

Meanwhile, I’m behind on choosing my picks for this years BWAs (I’ve been asked to participate in judging again this year). If you have any stellar recommendations, leave in the comments.

A List Apart: The Survey for People Who Make Websites 2009

Whether you call yourself a user experience consultant, web developer, or content strategist; whether you design customer flows, buttons, or brands; no matter what title you hold as a full- or part-time web professional, your work shapes our future and ought to command the world’s respect. But we won’t win that respect without understanding, and we can’t hope for understanding without data and the knowledge it reluctantly yields to the patient hand and steady eye.
